Learning UI/UX as a Beginner
Learning UI/UX as a Beginner
I’m currently at the beginning of my UI/UX design journey, and this blog is a space where I share what I’m learning along the way. As a beginner, I don’t have everything figured out—and that’s exactly why I wanted to document this process. Instead of focusing on perfect designs, my goal right now is to understand how and why good design works.
When I first started learning UI/UX, I thought design was mostly about making things look good. Over time, I realized that visuals are just one part of the process. What matters more is how users move through a product, how easily they understand it, and how comfortable the experience feels. This shift in thinking has completely changed how I approach design.
Most of my learning comes from hands-on practice. I experiment with small projects, recreate interfaces, and try different layouts in Figma to see what works and what doesn’t. I make mistakes, iterate on them, and slowly improve. Each project teaches me something new—whether it’s about spacing, hierarchy, user flow, or simply keeping things simple.
As a beginner, I’m also learning the importance of designing with intention. Instead of adding features or visuals just because they look good, I try to ask myself whether they actually help the user. This mindset helps me avoid over-designing and keeps my work focused on usability.
This blog isn’t meant to showcase finished or perfect work. It’s more like a learning journal where I reflect on my experiences, share insights I gain from projects, and track how my design thinking evolves over time. I believe growth comes from being honest about where you are and consistently working to improve.
I’m still learning, exploring, and experimenting—but that’s what makes this journey exciting. Through this blog, I hope to not only document my progress but also connect with others who are learning UI/UX and figuring things out one step at a time.
